Paying It Forward
The 'Pay It Forward' philosophy is where we help those we can help, and in return ask only that they help another person in the future. Paying It Forward creates a chain reaction that never ends. Every person has something to give in a team, and something to gain, and our dream is to network people and to help make amazing things happen.

The Join Adventures Team of paddlers and the community
We are a crew of paddlers that came together in 2014 with a mission to use our skills and love of paddling to build a self sustaining system that supports training opportunities, and whitewater support for paddlers. We are a Nepali team with an Australian thrown into the mix, all who deeply believe in the philosophy of Paying It Forward, and leading by example. As a team we are humbled and honoured to be part of a global community of amazing people creating positive opportunities.
The Join Adventures Team: team or company?
The Join Adventures Team is a team of highly qualified and experienced paddlers who specialise in extended expeditions, specialist expeditions and kayak instruction. Our team is supported by the local Nepali company Rapidrunner Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. who operate our expeditions, as well as being a Join Adventures Team sponsor.
The Join Adventure Team expeditions
The expeditions are our sustainable income source, allowing our team to self fund wages, run training courses, and support community projects. Every Join Adventures Team expedition contributes financially to supporting our goals.
The Join Adventures Team expeditions are very special to our team, we have a deep passion for the rivers, the whitewater and for sharing adventures with people from around the world. Expeditions are tailor made and all inclusive with the primary focus being on exploring Nepal by river. Our expeditions also include unique off-river activities to deepen your discovery of Nepal and its culture. We are an inclusive team, welcoming people of all paddling skills, abilities, gender, sexual preference, age and race.

Financial transparency
Sustainable fundraising
The Join Adventures Team believes we have something to give. We have great skills on whitewater and love paddling with people from around the world. A sustainable fundraising system has been developed to support community funds and projects for generations to come. To achieve this, the Join Adventures Team gives a set amount to support the Paying It Forward programs, and have created a transparent system so that participants know exactly what funds are given to the community programs.
The paddle crew and income
Expeditions are over approximately 2 to 5 weeks which enables each Nepali crew member to be provided with an equivalent wage to a season of work, giving our team members freedom to support community courses and projects. The only team member that cannot earn a wage on an expedition is Laura, she is an Aussie and Nepal doesn't allow ‘foreigners’ to work legally on the rivers. Laura’s pretty important to the team and we like having her around, so Laura joins expeditions as an extra after each expedition has a full ratio of Nepali guides/instructors.
As a team we provide full transparency with expedition money, each team member (both leaders and season guides) have access to the information on what has been paid out, how much goes to community projects, how much goes to transport, food, equipment, wages, and the Rapidrunner office costs. We believe that financial transparency is essential in any team.
The local company - Rapidrunner Expeditions Pvt Ltd
Rapidrunner Expeditions Pvt Ltd is a legally registered, tax paying whitewater company, based in Pokhara, Nepal and are an awesome crew of people that are instrumental to the success of our team, and provide essential administration skills and are our biggest supporter.
Over the years they have support our dreams, provided employment security and have given us additional support to help with our bigger projects. In 2017 they gave an additional $1000 towards the team leader Dipesh Gurung's training trip to the New Zealand Kayak School.
